It's Official...Influenza has arrived

That sickness I mentioned in the previous post? Yep, you guessed it...flu. And not the kind that we usually group together as the "flu"...no...this is the real deal. Even though Abbie received a flu shot this year, it proved to be the wrong strain, and now the influenza has made her ill. She has been told to stay home from work for the rest of this week by the doctor, and next week is her spring break, so she may be done altogether, depending on when the baby comes and how she feels in two weeks. I was prescribed Temiflu in an attempt to defend me from this nasty virus. We shall see if it works. I wasn't feeling great the weekend before last, so I may actually have already had it, but I am not so sure about that.

Bottom line...there is only one worse time this could have occurred, and that would have been two weeks later. At least we should both be healthy when labor comes. Let's hope...

Not a whole lot to report lately. Abbie has been sick the last two days, which is not very nice for a pregnant woman to endure. Hopefully she will feel better tomorrow. I got the car seat in my car this weekend, so that's ready to go. We received our "baby monitors" today as well. I tried to pack a bag for the hospital this weekend as well, and to be honest, I didn't have anything I wanted to leave in a bag for two weeks, so I will just deal with it when the time comes. If we are out and about and we have to proceed to the hospital, I may just have to wear the same shirt and underwear for a day or two! I am a camp alum, I can deal.

I have also heard from many of my friends who tell me they are coming when the baby is born. That was quite unexpected, and exciting at the same time! It is hard to pick up at a moment's notice to come down here. I would expect our immediate families to come, but all the friends that have also expressed the desire to come is a bonus.

These last couple of weeks, really beginning after last week's doctor appointment seem to have ground to a halt! We are both anxiously awaiting the time, but know that it is not quite here yet.
