She can sit by herself!

Zoey pulled herself up to a sitting position from laying completely flat the other day! She didn't seem to notice herself doing it, but it was quite a thrill for her parents!

Thanksgiving Weekend

Do I even need to say what I am thankful for this year? My wonderful baby is continuing to develop amazingly. She enjoyed sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes (a first) with us for the Thanksgiving feast. Zoey has been recovering from an ear infection, which has also left her with a bit of a cold. She has been taking amoxicillin, which we think is responsible for the diaper explosions she has been having this week. She visited the bath 3 times on Friday! She may also have uttered her first word... "Dada"! She looked directly at me on Friday and said that, and followed it up Saturday morning with a similar moment. I am not 100% convinced, but it was definitely a possibility. She still has not really started crawling, but she has begun moving her knees instead of just scooting. She demonstrates incredible fine motor skills also...she can pick up individual rice crispies and put them in her mouth. She understands cause and effect. She has a toy that is like a gumball dispenser for these plastic large-marble-like balls, and she has completely figured out how to press the lever to make them come out. Zoey continues to impress us every day!
